Tonette n. mitchell, BS — GRADUATE STUDENT INTERN (SUPERVISED BY Toya foster, lpc)

Tonette has a BS from The University of Texas at Arlington, and is working toward an MA in Marriage Family Therapy with an Addictions Emphasis from Oral Roberts University. Topics of special interest in therapy are grief work, trauma informed care, anxiety and depression, health, wellness, stress management, trust recovery, life transitions, relationships, parenting, and spirituality. As a former educator and coach, Tonette made the decision to enter the mental health field because she naturally connects with people and actively listens. It is her goal to provide a sacred space for her clients to work through life’s transitions and past traumas, helping them to heal, develop, and grow holistically. She begins with the end in mind. Her style is supportive, collaborative, and direct. Her goal for clients is to discover their authentic selves, identifying their beliefs and patterns, and how it affects them personally, professionally, and relationally. When she is not in the office, you can find Tonette spending time with her husband, son, and beagle. She enjoys watching sports, cooking, catching up on a TV series, hosting friends, and listening to music. Tonette is also a Resource and Administrative Manager for minority small business owners, helping them grow their businesses.
