Frequently Ask Question
-
No. There's no group sharing or public disclosure of any kind. The presenters teach, show film clips, and demonstrate with role plays — then you practice each exercise privately, just the two of you. A Gottman-trained therapist is available whenever you'd like one-on-one help.
-
It's an educational luxury retreat, not therapy. Many couples find it as powerful as months of counseling, but it works differently — you learn and practice skills together rather than processing with a therapist. If you'd like ongoing support, we can connect you with couples therapy too.
-
Absolutely. We welcome all couples in a committed relationship — dating, engaged, partnered, or married. The retreat is also excellent premarital preparation.
-
Yes. We welcome all couples, and the Gottman curriculum includes research data on same-sex relationships.
-
No preparation is required. Some couples enjoy reading Dr. Gottman's The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work in advance, but it's entirely optional.
