The ending of a relationship launches you into uncharted territory.
Everything is disrupted: your routine and responsibilities, your home, your relationships with extended family and friends, and even your identity.
Breakups can also bring uncertainty about the future. What will life be like without your partner? Will you find someone else? Will you end up alone?
The Healing Heartbreak group offers you a safe space to learn how to heal from your loss, grow into your new sense of identity, and serve as compassionate witnesses for one another.
Finding the courage to ask for support is one of the hardest steps to take, we don't take that lightly. We can't wait to speak with you and begin this journey of restoration together.
Meet the Facilitators
Rachel Sanson-Rakhshandeh, BS, MS, is a Graduate Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at The Center for Relationships and is completing her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University.
Her therapeutic approach is relational, systemic, and strengths-based, with particular attention to attachment, identity, culture, and the ways significant relationships shape our sense of self.
Rachel has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating heartbreak, separation, ambiguous loss, and major relationship transitions. She recognizes that the end or transformation of a significant relationship can involve not only the loss of a partner, but changes in identity, family relationships, routines, future expectations, and a person’s sense of belonging.
Within the Healing Heartbreak group, Rachel is committed to creating a compassionate and supportive space where participants can process their experiences, better understand their emotional and relational patterns, reconnect with themselves, and begin building a meaningful path forward.
