Olatunde Gbolahan
Hi, I’m Ola. I am a Graduate Counseling Intern at the Center for Relationships completing my Master of Education in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling at Lamar University, pursuing dual-track preparation as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.
I approach therapy through a systemic and relational lens, recognizing that individuals and relationships do not exist in isolation, they are shaped by family history, organizational and cultural contexts, and life transitions. My work focuses on helping couples, individuals, and families foster strong emotional connections, improve communication, and navigate complex challenges with clarity and mutual respect. Prior to transitioning into clinical counseling, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from San Francisco State University. I spent over fifteen years working in corporate systems migration and machine learning within the technology sector. That unique blend of engineering, business, and tech experience provides me with a grounded perspective on how modern career demands, high-stress environments, and structural transitions impact personal well-being and family systems. I bring a collaborative, pragmatic, and compassionate style to the therapy room, helping clients uncover practical solutions while building deeper emotional resilience.
On a personal note, I have been married for over 25 years and am a parent, both of which continually inform my appreciation for the dedication, patience, and intentionality required to sustain strong, healthy family relationships over time. When I am not in the therapy room or focusing on my studies, I love getting outdoors, especially hiking or camping with family and friends during the cooler months, kicking back in a hammock with a good science fiction or fantasy book, or spending time on the water and playing strategy board games when it’s too hot outside. I believe that meaningful, lasting change happens when people feel safe, understood, and supported.
I look forward to partnering with you as you navigate your relationship journey and work toward your goals.
